Aliza has a masters degree in child development with a concentration in media and technology literacy. She has research experience in media impacts and representation in media. 

Aliza has worked in editorial curation, production, curricula design, and content reviewing in children’s media.

Research Experience

Aliza has gained research experience working in three labs and has gained skills in Qualtrics, IRB development, literature searches, professional development, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and observational interviews. 

Her main research interests lie in children’s media, identity development and DEIJ issues, and educational technology.


CTV (Children’s Television Lab)


CTV’s main focus is on content analyses of children’s media, as well as content creator interviews, and media representation issues. Aliza has worked on developing an IRB, survey, and interview questions for an upcoming study.

 

DevTech Lab (Developmental Technology)


DevTech has created two main technologies: ScratchJr and KIBO and researches how coding can impact young children. Aliza worked on assessing students, creating a professional development course, and supporting curriculum goals.

Sidanius Intergroup Relations Lab focuses on intergroup relations, and the project Aliza was specifically involved in focused on the expansion of Whiteness.

CEEO Lab


Aliza worked with CEEO to observe classroom integration of robotics, created an outline for an upcoming publication on the project, and taught middle schooler’s robotics through LEGO Spike Prime.

Aliza has teaching experience in a multitude of settings and to all different types of students. She has taught in both formal and informal educational experiences as well.


Early Childhood Technology Degree

Teacher’s Assistant

Aliza was a teacher’s assistant for the ECT program which introduces engineering and technology education to teachers through two courses on tech tools for learning and educational environments.

Howard Hersch Religious School

Teacher

Aliza taught forth graders Hebrew, prayers, and holidays, and created a curriculum to support learners with learning disabilities. 

Boston Museum of Science

Early Childhood Interpretation Intern

The Discovery Center in the museum teaches children 8 and under about physics, biology, geology, and other STEM concepts that Aliza taught to museum patrons.

Ayalim Elementary School

Aliza worked with a second grade classroom in a disadvantaged school and taught math, English, and supported behavioral needs.

Camp Ramah in the Poconos

Art Specialist

Aliza taught art including woodburning, metal work, and polymer clay to children from preschool age to high school and children with special needs.
